What the Fork Cafe & Bar on Coventry Road in Hinckley strikes a comfortable balance between a casual café and a well-equipped local bar, making it a versatile spot for breakfast, lunch, or a relaxed drink. The atmosphere has a laid-back, welcoming vibe that suits a range of visitors — from locals dropping in for their morning coffee to motorbike groups unwinding over a hefty breakfast and a game of pool.

The menu offers familiar British café classics with an emphasis on hearty breakfasts, including medium and large Full English options that local regulars seem to appreciate for both quality and portion size. You’ll also find a good selection of toasties and burgers, making it easy to grab something satisfying at any time of day. Prices are reasonable too, with a typical breakfast plus hot drink combination around £10, which feels fair for the generous servings and freshly cooked food.

What stands out here is the staff’s flexibility and friendliness — they handle special requests with ease, whether that’s adjusting breakfast elements or swapping a traditional tea for a beer. That approach, alongside the approachable setting, creates a calming environment that encourages visitors to take their time, chat, or simply relax. The café also welcomes dogs, which adds to the inclusive feel for locals passing through with their pets.

If you’re looking for a spot where you can enjoy a solid, unpretentious breakfast or a casual lunch in a space that doesn’t rush you along, What the Fork fits the bill. It's well-suited to anyone in Hinckley wanting a straightforward meal with a side of friendly, attentive service. Early mornings and weekend meet-ups seem to be when this place hums with a nice local buzz, especially for groups that like to linger and socialize after eating.

Great little/bar/cafe/pub. I was a difficult customer who ordered the set breakfast but didn't want tomatoes or toast or tea ( I wanted a beer) The lady who served me offered me replacements for everything I didn't want... (don't get carried away I paid for the beer). Food cooked to order and the portion was massive. Thoroughly recommend this place.

A little Hinckley gem. We popped in for a vegetarian full English breakfast - lovely service, warm and friendly welcome. Food came out quickly and was perfectly cooked. At £10 for a breakfast with a hot drink it's great value. Dog friendly to boot - what's not to like? Definitely coming back.

I think it’s the best breakfast in Hinckley. I went for the medium breakfast, but for only £3 more the large breakfast is 50% bigger. Great food, nice staff and highly recommended.

The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans hit me like a warm hug, and the cozy, sun-drenched interior—complete with velvet armchairs, exposed brick walls, and shelves of vintage books—made it impossible to leave. I ordered the lavender honey latte (a seasonal special) and the avocado toast with poached eggs and chili oil. Chef’s kiss. The latte was perfectly balanced—floral without being overpowering, with a silky microfoam crown. The toast? Crunchy sourdough, creamy avocado, and that spicy kick tied it all together. Every bite screamed fresh.
